The Macedonian writer continues to cruelly push this kind of abhorrent male character. And she does so with a pitch-black, super-acidic, uncomfortable humor , which has become her trademark, until she turns the story into a grotesque farce. She also holds up a distorting mirror to men , but also to women. The question Buzarovska leaves hanging is unsettling: What if, once those layers of good manners are peeled back, we discover that there’s a Tony not far from us?
